This is a great drill that reinforces quick hands and proper body position after fielding a one hop ground ball.
Sit 2 players in the infield facing each other with legs wide open. Each player should have a glove and a baseball. Players should take turns bouncing their own ball straight down in front of them, fielding it with their glove, transitioning the ball to their throwing hand, and getting in proper position to make the throw without actually throwing the ball.
The focus of this drill should be speed with correct technique. Proper throwing position should include rotating the body, arm back and knuckles facing upward towards the sky.
