This drill will help young hitters learn the proper footwork and rotation technique (load, step, hip turn/rotation) when hitting a baseball.
Have the hitter hold the bat behind his/her back with both arms straight down, and the bat secured behind the back with the barrel and knob each through the forearm crease.
The hitter should get in an athletic stance, slightly bent at the knees, and load, step and turn, simulating the lower body weight shift and turn when hitting a baseball.
Repeat the drill 20-50 times. This is a great drill to aid in muscle memory and teaching a kid the proper lower body technique involved in hitting a baseball.
