Baseball Hitting Drill: Keeping Weight Back/Getting on Top of Ball
This drill is performed by having the hitter get down on his back knee, with front leg extended straight out in front. Using an "L" screen, soft toss baseballs straight at the hitter. The hitter should focus on keeping his weight on his back knee, and keeping his hands above the ball (not dropping the shoulder or hands).
This is a great drill to teach young hitters how to keep their weight back and hands on top of the ball.
